Avid cassette collectors know that felt pressure pads are prone to falling off vintage cassette tapes. While a seemingly simple component, this piece is essential for playing tapes as it properly presses the magnetic ribbon in the cassette tape against the tape head in the cassette player. Playing a cassette tape that doesn't have the felt pad present can damage both your tape and player, so it is wise to replace this piece if it is missing, damaged or loose.
